Cloudmounter for Windows uses the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) with a 256-bit key length to protect your data from unwanted access. Encrypt all the information stored on your cloud storages and make sure that any third-parties will not have access to your files.
Encryption in CloudMounter works the way that only people with a decryption key would be able to read your data, while for others it will be presented as nonsense.
Besides, the encryption key used in the Windows version of the app is acceptable by the Mac version thus allowing you to access the encrypted files no matter the operating system you are using now.
How to encrypt a directory:
1. Choose the “Encrypt” option from the context menu.
2. Enter a password and verify it. The password hint is highly recommended in order to be able to recover it in the future.3. Mark the optional boxes whether to encrypt the names of the files or to encrypt just newly added files. By using the “Lock” option from the context menu, you can seamlessly mask the encrypted files on your computer. By using the “Unlock” option from the context menu, you can reveal them anytime you wish.If you do not need the encryption anymore, and you want the directory to be deciphered, choose the “Decrypt” option from the context menu. This will require you to enter the password and confirm your actions.
