To make virtual ports visible under Devices and Printers, do the following:

1. Open regedit (press Win+R on the keyboard, type regedit, click OK).
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\VSBC8\Parameters.
3. Create a DWORD value named Removable and set it to 1.
4. Recreate your virtual ports for the changes to take effect.
