Getting started

Serial Port Monitor is a professional software application that allows the reading and recording of serial data going through your computer’s COM ports.

To get started with Serial Port Monitor, follow these instructions:

1. Download the software at:

 https://www.serial-port-monitor.org/downloads/ 

2. Install Serial Port Monitor on your computer and start it. Once you launch the software for the first time, a free 14-day trial period begins.

The trial version of Serial Port Monitor will be fully-functional for 14 days.

To continue using the software after the end of your free trial, sign up for a paid Serial Port Monitor plan.

To do this, take the following steps:

1. Start Serial Port Monitor. You will see the notification on the expiration of your free trial. Click the “Upgrade now” button.

3. Select a subscription plan and click Purchase.

4. Type your email address and click Continue. Optionally, you may allow Electronic Team to send you the latest news and useful information about the product.

5. Specify your country and click Continue.

6. Select the preferred payment method.

7. Enter the required payment details and click Subscribe now.

8. Once purchased, you will get a confirmation email with the registration information, including the name of your subscription and the activation code.

9. After you get the activation code, you should use it to activate the software. To do this, start Serial Port Monitor and click the button Enter code in the window notifying you about the end of your trial period.

10. Enter your code and click Activate.

This is it! Now, if you open the About window you will see that your software is successfully activated and you’re good to start using the app to work with your computer's serial ports.

How to update your payment information

You can change your payment method or update billing details at any time.

Once you purchase a subscription, you receive a confirmation email containing the link “review your subscription”.

By following this link, you can open the subscription management options.

How to cancel a subscription plan

To cancel your subscription plan, do the following:

1. Start the application. Select Help > About Serial Port Monitor in the main menu:

2. Click Cancel subscription below your subscription name:

3. Confirm the cancellation in the window that will open:

You can cancel your plan at any time. After you do this, the subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period.
